Notes:
For thicknesses above 30 mm, preheating (typically 100-150°C) and low-hydrogen welding procedures are recommended to avoid cold cracking. The steel is readily weldable by all common methods (SMAW, SAW, GMAW, FCAW). Classification societies require mill test certificates and marking with grade, heat number, and inspector's stamp. Not intended for low-temperature service below 0°C without separate notch toughness qualification.
