Notes:
This ferritic stainless steel cannot be hardened by heat treatment and is magnetic. Surface finish options include No.1, 2D, 2B, and BA, with bright annealing available for cold-rolled products. For welding, filler metals matching AWS ER439 or ER430Ti are recommended. Post-weld heat treatment is usually unnecessary due to stabilization, but stress relieving at 750–850°C may be applied for thick sections. Long-term exposure at 400–500°C may cause 475°C embrittlement; avoid prolonged service in that range.
