S600MC Hot Rolled Steel Coil Introduction
S600MC is a thermomechanically rolled, high yield strength steel designed for cold forming, specified in BS EN 10149-2. It belongs to the family of low-alloy, microalloyed steels, characterized by a fine grain structure achieved through controlled rolling. The steel provides a minimum yield strength of 600 MPa while retaining excellent formability, weldability, and toughness. Its balanced chemical composition, with controlled additions of vanadium, niobium, and titanium, ensures consistent mechanical properties across varying thicknesses.
- High strength-to-weight ratio
- Excellent cold formability for stamping and bending
- Good impact resistance at low temperatures
- Uniform properties across the strip width and length
S600MC Hot Rolled Steel Coil Chemical Composition
The ladle analysis conforming to BS EN 10149-2:2013 for grade S600MC. Microalloying elements Nb, V, and Ti are used individually or in combination to achieve fine-grain strengthening. The sum of these elements is strictly controlled to preserve weldability and toughness.
- Phosphorus and sulfur are kept low for improved formability
- Total aluminum ensures full deoxidation and grain size control
- Boron is not intentionally added

S600MC Hot Rolled Steel Coil Application Introduction
S600MC is designed for weight-critical components requiring high static and dynamic strength. It can be formed by cold bending, stamping, roll forming, and deep drawing. The fine grain structure guarantees excellent resistance to fatigue and impact, while low carbon equivalent (CEV) permits trouble-free arc and resistance welding. The steel is typically used in the as-rolled or pickled condition and can be coated by electrogalvanizing or hot-dip galvanizing after forming.

| USA | ASTM A1011/A1011M | Grade 80 [550] | Comparable 550 MPa minimum yield steel; not a full match in composition and production route. |
| Japan | JIS G 3113 | SAPH 440 / SAPH 540 | Contains lower yield strengths (440–540 MPa). Not directly equivalent but used for similar automotive applications. |
Notes:
