SUS304L is a low‑carbon variant of the widely used 304 austenitic stainless steel specified in JIS G4305 (cold‑rolled stainless steel plate, sheet and strip). The reduced carbon content (max 0.030%) effectively suppresses chromium‑carbide precipitation during welding, eliminating the risk of intergranular corrosion in the as‑welded condition.
