13CrMo4-5 Seamless Tube Introduction
13CrMo4-5 is a low-alloy chromium-molybdenum ferritic steel designed for elevated temperature service in pressure-bearing equipment. This grade offers excellent creep strength, good oxidation resistance up to 550 °C, and is widely used for boiler tubes, superheaters, and piping in power plants and petrochemical industries. The steel is delivered in normalized and tempered condition (N+T) to achieve optimal mechanical properties and toughness. It exhibits good weldability when proper preheat and post-weld heat treatment are applied. Typical applications include superheater tubes, reheater tubing, headers, and high-pressure steam piping.
13CrMo4-5 Seamless Tube Chemical Composition
The chemical composition of 13CrMo4-5 is controlled to ensure high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance. Chromium provides creep and oxidation resistance; molybdenum increases high-temperature strength. Residual elements are limited to avoid embrittlement.

13CrMo4-5 Seamless Tube Application Introduction
13CrMo4-5 is primarily used in power generation, petrochemical, and chemical processing industries for components exposed to temperatures up to about 550 °C. It offers a good balance of creep strength, fabricability, and cost. Design stresses should follow recognized pressure vessel codes (e.g., EN 13445, ASME Section II). Welding requires preheating (150–250 °C) and post-weld heat treatment (typically 630–700 °C) to restore toughness and reduce residual stresses. The steel is also suitable for bending, forging, and cold forming with subsequent heat treatment.
Product Applications: Superheater tubes, Reheater tubes, Economizer tubes, High-pressure steam piping, Heat exchanger tubes, Furnace tubes
Processed into products: Boiler tube panels, Tube sheets, Flanges, Headers, Expansion loops, High-pressure fittings, Reformer tubes (low–medium temperature)
Application industries: Power Generation, Petrochemical Industry, Oil & Gas, Chemical Processing, Boiler Manufacturing
